I can see the logic and hypocrisy of this.

The US government talking about jobs and domestic economy and such - and then sends those jobs overseas..

But the same has happened here in Vic (and possibly in other States).

The Federal Government has awarded part of the "Job Seekers Network" contract to a company from the UK.

I can't find detail on it. I am not great keeping up with TV and print news - but have seen no mention of this. The opposition has done a crap job on this issue, and seem at the moment to be whipping up fear again about 'Border Control"... Fuck politics often gives me the shits

I know many jobs will still be in Australia in that industry, but the management (and hence profit) has been awarded to a UK Company - without the government having to justify this while they call on business to retain workers and create jobs. That's hypocrisy. For the Oz Fed Government to be talking about Job Creation and Stimulus packages and then award this contract to an OS company without having to justify this in the media annoys no end. The result (I am told) is hundreds of people who used to find work for others being out of work themselves..and yet the media and opposition seem pretty silent. I miss someone keeping the bastards honest..

I would love to learn more about this to get my facts straight, but cant find info on it (does anyone have some links for some facts - my info is second hand ..)
